Camera angles, shots and movement - primeval
Different camera angle and shots are used to emphasis different things.
Low angle Camera shot shows how superior the tiger is as we are seeing him from a low angle. this emphasises how powerful the tiger is compared to the characters.
A high angled shot is use to do the opposite, it emphasises when the the subject is vulnerable, for example when the woman is being held at gun point on the floor in the barn, a high angled shot is used to emphasise her vulnerability and indicates to us that she us in serious danger. This is a stereotypical view of a woman in danger.
A point of view shot (POV) is also used in this scene when the man is looking up at the tiger. The POV is used to make the audience feel like they are really in the scene to emphasise what the character is feeling.
At the start of the scene a reverse angle shot is used to show that the two characters are having an intense conversation. this builds tension. The man in this scene doesn't seem to know why the woman is having a go at him, which is stereotypical of men.
In the part of the scene when the woman is in the JBC is being attacked by the tiger, the man is shown running into the distance shouting ''come on''. This is done as it shows that he is trying to re-establish himself as the hero figure as earlier on in the scene he is saved by the woman.
Camera movement:
A tracking shot is used in this scene when the woman is driving a JCB. It is used to emphasise the fact that the woman is doing a masculine job and is not the stereotypical ''helpless'' woman.
